124: 4 Actions Your Small Business Can Take to Make Change
As a high schooler in 2004 and 2005 working on Planned Parenthood's Teen Council, I never could have imagined that in 2022, Roe V. Wade would be overturned and pregnant people would lose the right to autonomy over their own bodies. It's been difficult, but I've been trying to give myself a lot of grace since the decision came down and to allow myself the space to process and grieve. It feels particularly challenging to focus on my business right now. But you know what? Small business owners have more power than you might think!
For today's episode, I crowd-sourced ways small businesses are taking action and organized the responses I received into four main themes. I also shout out the business owners who shared their thoughts because I think they're all worth checking out. So take a breath, give yourself a break from business as usual if you need, and when you're ready consider following the lead of some of the amazing small businesses that weighed in for this episode.
In this episode, we discuss:
1. Being Conscious About Where You Spend Your Money
2. Donating to Causes That Align With Your Values
3. Speaking Up for What You Believe In
4. Empowering (and PAYING!) Your Employees to Get Involved
